![]() ![]() My Review: Memoirs are not exactly a go-to genre for me but after reading Nicole Kear’s Huffington Post article, Reading After Dark, and some of her blog posts I felt compelled to pick up her book. She finally has to stop running from her blindness because her children are depending on her. With her vision continuing to deteriorate, she is forced to finally face her greatest challenge and fear head on. Then things change yet again when Kear has her first child. Travel, circus school, and finding the love of her life are just a few of the things Kear is able to cross off her light’s out bucket list, spending her early twenties living life with almost reckless abandon. Rather than falling apart, she decides on a bold course of action and makes her new motto “Carpe Diem” all while keeping her impending blindness a secret from all but her closest family. Summary: Nicole Kear is just nineteen years old when suddenly she is given a life-changing diagnosis–she is going blind. ![]()
